Just pretend it didn’t happen
July 27, 2005 on 8:48 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsToday Sucked.
I had a really bad headache all day. I didn’t have any medicine with me either. It was hard to stay focused, and I had to work on a project all day.
At lunch, I got some BBQ something-or-other and I openned the cooler door to get a beverage and managed to flip my tray and get food all over the place. A couple of the lunch ladies were nice, but one of them didn’t seem very understanding even though i apologized profusely.
After working all day with that pounding headache, i just wanted to get home and go to bed. Lucky for me, I was driving the carpool, and got stopped at a speedtrap! Now I have a ticket. I am lucky though that the cop was nice to me. He could have made it a lot worse.
Now I have to prepare for a presentation. Hopefully tomorrow goes better.

July 26, 2005 on 5:58 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsI had a really good weekend. Nothing huge happened, it was just pleasent. We worked on some wedding stuff, saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and hung out with some people from work.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was good. I was really tired though, and had a hard time staying awake.
This is the last week of training at work. I’m excited to get my placement, but it will be bitter sweet for all of us “newbies” to be split up. That is to be expected though. As soon as you start feeling comfortable, things change. Either way, I’m ready to get my hands dirty.
Its funny though, how much all of the “newbies” have all gotten to know each other. Everyone seems to have a very distinct personality that stands out after seeing each other every day for the past 2 months.
I can’t believe that the summer is almost over. I am not ready for Matt to go back to springfield. I’m going to miss him. I am also afraid that I won’t have enough friends here. I guess I can be super productive though.
It’s rainy today. As much as we needed the rain to cool things down, I wasn’t happy that it rains on the day that i drive the carpool (granted, with my huge van!!), or the day that i was planning on driving to Overland Park to see Matt. I miss my car.
I guess i’ll just chill at home then. I have a lot of dishes to do, and also some sewing, if you can believe that. Now all I have to do is learn how to cook. ![]()
Life in Lawrence
July 11, 2005 on 6:57 pm | In Uncategorized | 4 CommentsWell, I finally got internet access at my apartment, but not before I managed to lock the cable guy in my apartment. He actually had to take the lock off the door to get out. Long story.
Things at work are speeding up. Today I had to stay late to work on a project. We have to give a presentation tomorrow. I still don’t know what I’ll be doing when I reach my job though. I’ve been really curious and have tried to get some info out of the right people, but with no luck.
I’m definately not used to working all day. I feel like I get home, blink, and then its time to go to bed. Tonight I have to work on my presentation some more before i go to bed.
Matt and I have been making some progress on the wedding front. We debated for awhile as to whether we should have the wedding in St. Louis or in Kansas. It would be so much easier to plan in Kansas, but so many of our friends are from St. Louis. The jury is still out on that one. We did however meet with my priest back home last weekend. The meeting went well, and his schedule for the spring looks good. I hope future meetings go just as well. Either way, we need to make a decision soon. And I need to get info on St. Louis reception halls.
I hope everyone’s summer is going well. Now that I have internet, I am hoping that I’ll be able to keep in better contact with everyone.
