“Everybody has to cross the river”.

The following rules apply:
Only 2 persons on the raft at a time.
The father can not stay with any of the daughters without their mother’s presence.
The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father’s presence.
The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there.
Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft.
To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
To move the people click on them.
To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.

Getting married is one thing…a wedding is something different all together

I just got back from going home this weekend. It was really good weekend. Matt and I hadn’t seen each other in 5 weeks or so and I think things were productive on the wedding front. We checked out 2 photographers: Amy Gaugh and Holt Photography. Both seem fairly reasonable. I am not sure who we will go with. Holt’s were giving away free kittens. They were soooo cute. I almost asked for one. I’ve been wanting a kitten for a couple months now. I keep telling myself to wait until I move into a new place or until after the wedding (so I wouldn’t have to leave it alone so much). But its tempting to get one now. Of course Matt has had cats before and I have not, so naturally I feel like I should have some what of a head start to make sure it likes me. silly I know. :)

We also checked out Margo’s Florist. We were there for 2 hours! I never thought picking flowers would be so hard. Calla Lillies are too expensive, Tulips too fragile — It looks like we may go with roses.

We even stopped by the mall and looked at tuxes. Matt wants a bow tie. That is fine with me, as long as he can find one that spins. Yes…if you have a bow tie…it must spin. Just imagine it:
“Anna, do you take Matt to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do”
(insert spinning bow tie). — wouldn’t that be perfect?

The next big decision to make concerns my wedding band. I love my engagement ring, but unfortunately it doesn’t have a matching wedding band. We knew this when we picked it and we assumed that we would get a wedding band custom made. Now that it is getting closer though, we’ve been talking about other alternatives. We went to several jewelers yesterday and nobody had any answers for us. Because of the shape of the band, nothing will be able to sit up next to it.

ering

They’d either put it with an ugly band that leaves a gap between the two rings next to the diamond, or they’d put a wrap on it that completely covers up my engagement ring band — but i love my e-ring band! I don’t want it covered up! Doesn’t anyone value simplicity and elegance anymore? Ugh! So now i think we have 3 options:
- pay to get one custom made
- get a plain band and wear it on the same finger with no intention of it matching or sottering them together
- trade in my e-ring for a completely different ring (but I don’t know if i would be able to find anything that i like as well).

last weekend I went home to look at bridesmaid dresses. It was great to see everyone and surprise surprise- we made a decision in one day!
We also got our engagment pics back from walmart. we went there because we didnt’ want to spend a fortune. You can see those pics here. I submitted an engagement announcement that appeared in the Oct 7th Washington Missourian. Check out the blurb (they didn’t put our pic on the net)
I am also getting closer with the save-the-date cards. I am still missing some addresses, but as soon as i get those, I’ll send them out. I am kinda frustrated that I wasn’t able to send them out earlier.
If you are curious as to what the wedding will look like, check out my bio on the knot.
Nevermind…I decided that you’ll just have to be in suspense.

I guess that is all for now. adios!

I was minding my own business last night, chatting on my computer and listening to some music when the doorbell ring. It was 9:30pm. I figured it was Anne, since she lives only 2 buildings down and nobody else would be at my apartment so late. I openned the door to a a very pissed-off looking guy. He said that he was listening to music and that someone called the cops on him. He said that his music wasn’t even that loud and that my apartment is the only one in the building with lights on so it must have been me. I told him that I didn’t even hear any music and asked where he lives (I’ve never seen him before). He lives at the opposite side of my building. I said that I didn’t call the cops. We talked for a couple min, but I don’t think that he believed me.

Then this morning, I realized that he came back last night. On my front door, there was a typed note on a little slip of paper that said, “If you have to call the cops on me, please come over to my apartment and ask me to turn down my bass.” I looked on my neighbors door, and they didn’t have one. It was only me.

What bothers me more than him being pissed off enough to confront complete strangers in the building is that he went back to his apartment and was still pissed off enough to type up a note, cut it out in a little strip, and bring it back over to my apartment.

Now when I talked to him the first time, I understood his frustration and figured that in other circomstances he would be a nice guy. But I don’t know if a nice guy would come back to leave a note. Honestly i find it a little scary now.

Now there is some freak out there who thinks I wronged him in some way. Great!
