Yesterday Tornadoes; Today Snow

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Mine went well except that my parents managed to get me to take a bunch of stuff that they didn’t want sitting around the house. So I left home with a broken christmas tree, a roaster, an empty can of Saporito tomato paste, an old computer, five card board star wars characters, and one indiana jones character.

On wednesday I left work disappointed that i wasn’t able to get more work done. Today I was able to make up for some of it. I spent all day investigating a couple issues and was able to isolate one of them. There is so much to do and no time to do it!

On the wedding front we are also making progress. My wedding ring is done and I just found out that my dress is in! I didn’t expect it until January! This is great news because I should have plenty of time for alterations now. yay! happy things!

Busy Days

I love busy days. While hectic, crazy, and stressful, they are so much better than the boring days, even if I am going to have to do some work this weekend and come in early on Monday.

Nothing else is going on…just wanted to say that.

some good stuff

Friday, I had a really good day at work…a better day than I’ve had in a long time. I feel like i’ve been in a bit of a rut lately…under a whole lot of stress with the wedding and all. Anyway, we loaded some data at work, and believe it or not, it worked! Man, I’ve never wanted software to work so much before in my life. Then I find out that they are going to put me on customizations!!!

Lately I’ve been working on testing and creating/loading data for the tests, but eventually, I really want to get into some more technical aspects. I was hoping that they would let me help the girl that is doing most of the customizations, but I knew that I was primary scheduled as a testing resource. Well, it looks like due to several factors, I am going to be doing the majority of customizations!!! I am so excited. I really wanted to get my hands dirty, and I honestly didn’t think that I’d get to already. But i also got some scary news…in addition to the customizations, I’ll also be doing a lot of the creating/loading table data, and a lot of the PSR testing, and even some UI testing. I am totally excited to get my hands dirty, but am a little scared about how much work it will be and whether or not i can handle it all. It should be good though, even if its a little overwhelming.

Last night I was at Dillians, bought some alcohol, and didn’t get carded!!! It made me feel strange, like I had gotten away with something even though I am of age. I kept waiting for them to ask for ID, but they never did. Anyway, I got a kick out of it.
