August 13, 2006 on 8:05 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentI can’t wait for this new show on Fox called ‘Til Death.
I just hope it is as funny as Everybody Loves Raymond was.
It premieres September 7th.

August 8, 2006 on 10:09 am | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentThis weekend was quite busy for us. Friday we met some friends at Cabella’s for a meat-smoking contest. We sat around, ate free food, and kept everyone company (they had been there all day). I was excited to hear later that they ranked higher than some popular BBQ restaurants!
Saturday, we ran some errands and went to a T-Bones game with Matt’s coworkers. We did some more sitting around (this time with beer) and chit-chatted. At one point, Matt introduced me to a co-worker and his wife.
The co-worker mentioned that they’ve been married for a month.
I offered congratulations and said, “We’re working up to 6 months.”
The wife laughed and said, “So you don’t know what you are doing either?”
“Nope, not at all.” LOL
And on that note, I was very excited and surprised yesterday to get the first issue of “The Nest” magazine. For those of you who don’t know…www.theknot.com is a fabulous resource for planning weddings. It has everything you could possibly want to know.
The creators now also have www.thenest.com. This is designed for those newly married couples (like us!). TheNest website is good, but it appears like they struggle to keep up new and enticing content, which is why I am so excited about the magazine. This issue featured everything from tips on throwing good parties (aka mixing the right drinks!) to saving for retirement and buying new furniture!
I know this stuff may seem silly, but lets face it… I have no freaking clue how to fold a fitted sheet!
There…I’ve admitted it.
They say that this is the first step.
shits and giggles
August 4, 2006 on 10:49 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsThis week I started teaching Taekwondo again…something I’ve not done in years. I only have one student (the kid of a co-worker), and we’re just doing a trial period, but I think that it is going to be good for me. We’ve only have a couple sessions, and I am not always in the mood to do it, but afterwards I always feel so positive and energized…I remember feeling that way when I was doing Taekwondo all the time. Plus it really helps to get your mind off work when you come home. We’ll see how things go, but I kinda wouldn’t mind keeping it up.
Work is still work…We are down to days before our pilot. Anxiety is still building. I do seem to be getting lucky though–Today I just seemed to randomly try something and it fixed our problem! There really wasn’t much logic or technical thought going into it, it was just, “hey nothing else worked…lets try this for shits and giggles.” Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), by the time I realized it was working, nobody was there to see me do my happy dance. Maybe they are all better off.
