Wait…is that Watermelon Twist?
October 14, 2006 on 8:15 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsSo 2 or 3 weeks ago, I bought some bubble gum.
I am amazed at how strong it smells.
Everytime I open my purse, a get a wiff of it’s fruity bubble-gum smell.
Even my PDA smells like bubble gum, which is not exactly what I want my PDA to smell like.
I should hang a piece from my car’s rear-view mirror to keep my car smelling good.
Well, my first week of work is over. It was just general HR training.
There was a bit of culture-shock when I walked into the room that was filled with almost all men! I would almost expect that if they were all software engineers, but there were only a couple of us.
On monday I’ll start my new position. I am excited.
My calendar is already filled with meetings and such. And its great to see that they are spending some time getting ready for me.
complaining about what?
October 9, 2006 on 9:59 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentWell, my first day of work is over.
I was going to get on my computer and complain how men severely outnumber women in my training class (4 to 1).
But instead I got home and heard that one of my previous coworkers had a family emergency yesterday. Apparently, their dad (who works construction I believe) fell from about 40 feet and landed on his face. Need-less to say he is in pretty bad shape.
If you are the praying type, please remember Derek and Dustin’s father.
I so don’t need to be complaining about my office job.
House hunting is for the birds
October 8, 2006 on 10:50 pm | In Uncategorized | 3 CommentsHmmm…I’m trying to think about what all has happened since I posted last.
My blog seems to be having issues with spam comments. I’ve installed a wordpress Captcha plugin (requires you to type in characters from an image before posting a comment). Let me know if it gives you any grief. We’ve been cleanning out the spam so hopefully we haven’t deleted any legit comments.
We had several team outings my last week at work. One to visit the new store layout and another for my going-away party. All the fun made it hard for me to leave.
Thursday was my last day. It was better than I thought it would be. The hardest part was saying goodbye to those people who I knew I wouldn’t see again, even if we weren’t all that close.
Now I am just excited about my new job. My first day is tomorrow, so wish me luck.
This weekend we went to the American Royal BBQ contest. I hear that it is the biggest BBQ contest in the world! One of our friends has been competing in local BBQ contests, so we went and ate our full of free BBQ. It was fabulous!
You should have seen some of the other teams’ booths and such…my favorite was a big banner that read, “BBQ 4 BOOBIES”.
The house-hunting continues. Every weekend for the past 4 or 5 weeks, we’ve been looking. At first we didn’t really know what we wanted, but now we know exactly what we want…The problem is that we can’t seem to find it. And we’re running out of places to look.
