Negotiations
March 30, 2008 on 7:52 pm | In Uncategorized | 5 CommentsThings have been pretty busy here.
Matt and I have been working a lot lately. We both have big projects coming up. One night Matt didn’t get home until after midnight and the next night, I didn’t get home until midnight. Hopefully, we’ll finish our projects soon and things will get back to normal.
I also need to start thinking about where I want my career to go (ie, whether i want to manage or stay technical). It is a hard decision to make, because it is going to determine what types of opportunities I get in the future.
For the past couple weeks, I’ve been trying to talk Matt into buying a new Kitchen table. He doesn’t have any major concerns, he just isn’t too excited about kitchen tables. We’ve been shopping around and I was surprised to find out how many furniture stores don’t carry many pieces…instead they do the custom table making, which is about twice as expensive. Anyway, I found this table that seemed reasonably priced. It is a counter-height table from the Broyhill Northern Lights collection. It has a butterfly leaf to expand the table to seat six people.
but Matt still seemed unconvinced. On Friday Night, the negotiations started. See, we have this air hockey table in the basement that Matt has been wanting to put in our empty dinning room. I told him if we bought the table this weekend, that he could bring up the air hockey table. Unfortunately, Doug and Chuck were there too, and immediately started to give Matt advice on how he can negotiate more out of this arrangement. Before I know it, I had promised to let Matt use the Dinning Room for whatever he wants for the next 5 years…or until the birth of our first child.
Come Saturday morning, I tried to get Matt to go to the store to buy the table, but the negotiations didn’t pay off. Instead we cleaned house and played video games. Oh well…maybe next weekend.
doesn’t taste 2 years old

Yesterday was our 2-year anniversary!
We celebrated by tasting our 2-year old wedding cake. Usually this is done on a first anniversary, but last year it was still sitting in my parents deep freezer.
I have to say that it didn’t taste like it was 2 years old. The icing may have been a little questionable, but the cake tasted pretty darn good.
Happy Anniversary to us!
